We are bizarre creatures. Born only for "success". We base our standards on how well one does in life, but I think that we should all start to re-evaluate what success means to us. Which would you rather be able to look back on when you're lying in your death bed...a life filled with happy memories, being surrounded by the one's you love, flash backs of your first kiss, your cubical, then how many dates you filled in your agenda when you were CEO of "The Big Company", how large your bank account is right now? Which would comfort you during your last moments?

All day people live their lives for tomorrow, ex: "Sorry guys, I can't go to LaRonde, I'm saving up to get a -enter stupid material object here-". Whatever happened today?!?! How many marriages and lives do you know of that are in pieces due to success? Think about it, your best friend who never got to play catch with his father because he was working late at the office, who never really got to know him because he died of a heart attack at 42. Your neighbour who is having an affair with the pool man because her husband is too busy planning the company's advertising budget to spend time with his wife? Why has money become our golden calf?

Its just so sad. Have we nothing worth living for anymore? Has the All Mighty Dollar become our last bastion?
